You bought beautiful soft, absorbent towels. Of course, you want them to stay that way as long as possible. Learn how to maintain the quality and performance of your towels with a couple of tricks and some tips.

  • What you need to avoid

When washing a towel, you should avoid large amounts of softeners and bleaches. The reason for this is the accumulation of softener layers on the surface of the fibers that reduce air and water permeability, thereby creating a mild and stale odor. The whiskers, on the other hand, affect the strength of the fibers and frequent bleaching will work old and worn. Also keep the towels away from household and personal care detergents containing different peroxides or acids. They can change the color of the towel.
Do not wash items with towels that could pull or damage the fabric. This includes clothing with zippers or hooks. This will prevent you from pulling the threads from the towels. If a loop on your towel happens, simply cut it with scissors.

  • Washing

We recommend washing after every third use. For washing, use cold water and only a small amount of detergent because it makes it difficult to dry the towel. Prevent peeling (occurs when fibers are making abrasion) - Wash the bathroom range separately and separate towel colors.

AIf you do not want to use classic detergents and softeners, your allies in maintaining towels are baking soda, white vinegar and tea tree oil. Baking soda will soften water and the fabric itself, thus enhancing stain removal, and will also prevent the development of odor in the washing machine. White vinegar acts as a natural softener and prevents color rinsing. You can also add a teaspoon of tea tree oil to the washing cycle. It will disinfect towels and prevent the development of bacteria and fungi.

  • Drying

Before drying, shake your towels to level the fibers. Dry them in the dryer at low temperature (high temperatures damage the fabric), remove them as soon as possible because excessive drying results in fiber breaking. If you dry them out in the fresh air, shake the towels before and after drying. Before arranging and folding the towels, make sure that they are completely dry.

  • Hanging

Hang on each towel to get dry. Do not fold them wet anyway or squeeze them into the basket. They will develop stale odor, bacteria and mold. An ideal place to dry the towel is a towel holder or simply put it outside on the dryer. The key is that the towel is completely widespread, as if you put it on the kettle, moisture will accumulate on towel creases.

  • Folding

When you arrange and organize your closet, you need to know that less is more. If you overwhelm the towels, the towels will stain, and they may create unpleasant smell and mildew. To maintain freshness and a pleasant smell, you can put lavender bags between towels. Another tip: Prevent the use of one and the same set of towels so that the candles of the crimson are put on the bottom of the shelves. Using the towels as they are on the shelf, everyone will use it equally.

  • When is the time for new towels

Your towels are constantly in the use, you use them everyday and often wash them, so they will be inevitably worn out after a while. Towels should be changed after 2 years, on average, and old ones can be used as cleaning rags.
